Fr. Thaninayagam Statue is a memorial statue of the grand Tamil scholar Rev. Fr. Xavier Thani Nayagam which is situated along the Kandy – Jaffna Highway in Jaffna. It was unveiled to mark the centenary of the Tamil scholar and the area has been named as Thani Nayagam Square. Fr. Thaninayagam, a Christian – Tamil professor, conducted extensive research on the Tamil language and organized many related research conferences.
