Delft Island is an island situated in the northern part of Sri Lanka in the Palk Strait. It is also known in the names of Neduntheevu or Neduntivu in Tamil and Sinhala respectively. Delft is the Dutch name of the island. The island is 50 square km in area with a length of 8 km and a maximum width of approximately 6 km. It belongs to the Jaffna district and consists of beaches with shallow water and corals.

Getting to Delft Island

From Jaffna travel along the Jaffna-Pannai-Kayts Road and Valukkairaru-Punkudutivu-Kurikadduwan Road up to Kurikadduwan Harbor to get the Kurikadduwan Jetty which carries passengers in an hour long trip to Delft Island.
