Thotupola Mountain, also known as Thotupolakanda or Thotapolakanda, is a mountain situated in Nuwara Eliya district. It is the third highest mountain in Sri Lanka standing at a majestic height of 2357 m. The mountain is situated within the Horton Plains National Park and can be accessed via the Pattipola entrance of the park. It is one out of the many locations where Ravana’s aircraft named “Dandu Monara” is believed to have landed in Sri Lanka.

Getting to Thotupola Mountain

From Nuwara Eliya travel along the Blackpool-Ambewela-Pattipola-Horton Plain Road passing Ambewela up to Pattipola to reach the Thotupola Mountain which is situated within the Horton Plains National Park along the World’s End Road.
