Kuda Gal Viharaya is a small shallow cave which lies hidden among the number of terraces surrounding the Baddha Seema Pasada within the Alahana Pirivena in Polonnaruwa. It is a rarely visited place which bears very little resemblance to the Gal Viharaya lying a short distance away from here. The steel identification board at the site identifies this cave as Guha Viharaya (Cave Shrine). Inside the cave are four Buddha statues carved on to rock. Today the heads of all but one statue have been destroyed presumably by treasure hunters. Only the last statue is complete.
