Bopath Ella is situated in Kuruwita, Ratnapura. It stands at a height of 30 meters and gets its name due to its shape resembling the leaf of the sacred “Bo Tree”. This is a very popular waterfall in Sri Lanka. According to local myths it is haunted and hides a treasure trove.

Getting to Bopath Ella

From Belihuloya travel along the Colombo – Batticaloa Highway passing Aluthnuwara, Balangoda, Kahatapitiya, Pelmadulla, Lellopitiya and Ratnapura up to Kuruwita to reach the Bopath Ella.
