Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya is a Buddhist temple situated in Galle. The temple is situated on a rock and consists of a 9 m reclining Buddha. Its walls are painted with murals and the temple follows a similar structure to the Rock Cave Temple of Dambulla. This temple has been recipient of royal patronage from three kings of Sri Lanka, King Devanam Piyatissa, King Parakramabahu II and King Sri Vikrama Rajasingha.
