Sangamankanda Point is the most eastern point in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Komari and consists of unspoilt beaches with some places being as wide as 100 m. The lighthouse at this point was built in 1947 and stands at a height of 25 feet. However, the lighthouse was affected by the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, and today only 1 lighthouse of 15 feet remains at this point. The beach here spans a massive area and the sea is calm unlike the beach in Arugam Bay.
