Perumal Wetuna Ella Falls lies on the Galmal Oya stream, a few kilometers above the Victoria Reservoir bordering the Knuckles Reserve in the Hakmana area. It stands at a height of approximately 10 meters and is a great hiking area. Caution should be taken at the base of this waterfall during rainy days when it could be extremely slippery. A person named Perumal is believed to have fallen from here which gives the waterfall its name.
Getting to Perumal Wetuna Ella Falls
From Matale take the Teldeniya Road and go past Ukuwela, Wattegama, Digana and Teldeniya until Retiyagama. Travel along the Udispattuwa – Galmal Oya Road and then turn to Poddalgoda Road to reach the Perumal Wetuna Ella Falls.
