Palace of Kuveni is a historical landmark which is situated in the western coast of the Wilpattu National Park in North Western Sri Lanka. It is situated in Thambapanni or Kudiramalai which is an ancient sea port and where Prince Vijaya first stepped foot to the island. He went on to become the first king of Sri Lanka. Kuveni was King Vijaya’s wife and this historical site is believed to be the ruins of her palace. The site has a few stone pillars and is mostly covered by the jungle which belongs to the Wilpattu National Park.

Getting to Palace of Kuveni

From Kalpitiya travel along the Palavi-Kalpitiya Road and Mannar Road passing Norochcholai, Puttalam, Wanathavilluwa, and Eluwankulama up to Kudiramalai to reach the Palace of Kuveni situated in the western coast of the Wilpattu National Park.
