The New Kelani Bridge is situated in Colombo 14. The bridge was built based on advanced Japanese technology and has managed to create a milestone in transportation in Sri Lanka. It is also known as Japan – Sri Lanka Friendship Bridge due to this reason. The New Kelani Bridge consists of two sections – one that goes above the Kelani River and the other over the existing roadway. The use of both technologies are a first in Sri Lanka. The bridge has the widest span without piers in any bridge in the country. This six-lane bridge was built to improve the traffic congestion in the area.

From Colombo travel along McCallum Road, Kovil Veediya, T.B. Jayah Mawatha, Sri Sangaraja Mawatha and Baseline Road to reach the New Kelani Bridge which is situated in Colombo 14.
