Kale Palliya (Hidden Church) is a church which is situated in Puttalam. It is located close to the St. Anne’s Church of Thalawila and is mostly visited by those who come to St. Anne’s Church. It is known as a comforting pilgrimage site and is believed to be one of the oldest churches in Sri Lanka. It is a missionary centre for the pastors of the Orthodox Church of the island. Kale Palliya is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua and is considered to be a sacred site in the Puttalam district.
