Horagolla National Park is one of the latest national parks of Sri Lanka which is situated in Attanagalla, close to Gampaha.

Horagolla National Park is one of the latest national parks of Sri Lanka which is situated in Attanagalla, close to Gampaha. It was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1973 and is governed by the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka. However it was given the status of a national park later in year 2004. Horagolla National Park is the only urban park of the Western Province and is situated in close proximity to the Horagolla Walawwa which is the home of the prestigious and politically famous Bandaranaike family.

Getting to Horagolla National Park

From Colombo travel along the Kandy Road passing Kiribathgoda, Mudungoda and Kalagedihena up to Horagolla in Attanagalla to reach the Horagolla National Park.
