The Garrison Cemetery in Kandy is a cemetery for the British nationals who died in Sri Lanka, known at the time as Ceylon. It was established in 1817 after the British captured Kandy and closed in 1873. The cemetery contains the graves of men, women and children, most of whom died due to tropical diseases such as Malaria, Cholera etc. It is located adjacent to the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
