Diyawanna Lake also known as Parliament Lake is a beautiful lake situated in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte surrounding the Sri Lanka Parliament building. The Sri Lanka Parliament is built on an artificial island at the center of the lake. The Diyatha Uyana (Diyatha Park) is situated on the banks of the Diyawanna Lake. The lake has eight islands in total. This lake was created in 1979 and the best way to explore the scenic and serene suburban is by boat.
