Diyasaru Park is a 60-acre preserve of lush greenery with footpaths & boardwalks past a variety of vegetation & wildlife. It is situated on the Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Road in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte. It is an artificially built wetland park formerly known as Thalawathugoda Biodiversity Study Park. The park is home to a wide range of trees, plants, birds, butterflies, reptiles, dragonflies etc. Activities such as bird watching & photography and boat riding are also available here.

What to do in Diyasaru Park

Diyasaru Park is home to the endangered Fishing Cat. It is a great place to learn about various animals and plants especially for children. There is a bird watching tower at the far end of the park which gives a great view of the wetland.

From Colombo travel along Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha passing Rajagiriya and Battaramulla until Thalawathugoda to reach the Diyasaru Park which is situated on the Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Road in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte.
