Degaldoruwa Raja Maha Vihara (Temple) is Amunugama in Kandy. This cave temple lies about 7 km from the Kandy city. It is ancient Buddhist temple made of rock and is famous for frescoes of the Kandyan era. The temple is said to have been built during the reign of King Kirti Sri Rajasingha in 1771, by his younger brother Rajadhi Rajasingha and completed by the latter when he came to the throne.
