Bodhinagala Forest Reserve is situated in Ingiriya near the Horana town in the western province of Sri Lanka.

Bodhinagala Forest Reserve is situated in Ingiriya near the Horana town in the western province of Sri Lanka. The forest reserve is approximately 449 hectares in area and is managed by the Forest department. It is home to many species of birds which are rare and endemic to Sri Lanka. It is the best place to catch sight of the endemic Green-billed coucal, Spur fowl, Hanging parrot and Yellow-fronted barbet.

Getting to Bodhinagala Forest Reserve

From Colombo travel approximately 4.2 km along T.B. Jayah Mawatha up to Battaramulla. Travel a further 4.4 km from here along Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha and Kotte-Bope Road to turn to the Colombo – Batticaloa Highway. Travel along this route passing Watareka and Padukka and turn to the Meepe – Ingiriya Road. Travel along this route up to Ingiriya to reach the Bodhinagala Forest Reserve.
