Algama Waterfall is situated in Algama in the Kegalle district. It is also known as Uduwaka Falls. It stands at a height of 6 meters and flows through a narrow gap under rocks. There is an inviting bathing pool at the foot of the rock, but caution should be taken when bathing because the rocks are slippery.

The waterfall can be viewed up close due to a rocky ledge which is situated close by. There are many visitors coming to see this waterfall especially during the weekends so make sure to get there as early as possible.

Further downstream the Algama Waterfall a 3 m-long crevasse can be found. The water is hidden among the branches of trees, and emerges again beneath a rock protuberance. It is a naturally beautiful waterfall which is suitable for bathing. Both locals and visitors come here to have a bath or swim. There are a few small ponds close by which can also be used for bathing and swimming.

Getting to Algama Waterfall

Take the Algama Road from the Haggala Junction towards Uduwaka. At Haggala junction, turn left onto the Algama Road. Go through Algama and continue to Uduwaka where the Algama Waterfall can be found.
