Kuttam Pokuna (Twin Ponds) is a pair of ponds which is situated in Anuradhapura. It stands as an example for outstanding architectural and hydrological engineering creations in ancient Sri Lanka. The two ponds of different sizes are separated by a landscaped garden. The large pond is 40m X 15m in size with a depth of 5m. The small pool is 28m X 15m in size with a depth of 4m. The pond is decorated with intricate carvings of the Sinhalese architecture and has a flight of steps leading to the water.
Getting to Kuttam Pokuna
From Anuradhapura travel along the Puttalam – Anuradhapura – Trincomalee Highway and turn to Watawandana Road to reach the Kuttam Pokuna in Anuradhapura.
