The site of the Farah III Shipwreck is located at Mullaitivu in the northern part of Sri Lanka. The Jordanian owned ship, Farah III was robbed by the LTTE on the 19th of December 2006. The ship carried 14,000 metric tonnes of rice and had anchored at the coast due to mechanical failure. After the defeat of LTTE, the site has been declared open to the public to remind about the cruelty of the civil war in Sri Lanka.

Getting to Farah III Shipwreck

From Jaffna travel along the Kandy – Jaffna Highway and the Parantan-Mullaitivu Highway passing Chavakachcheri, Parantan, Visuvamadu and Puthukkudiyiruppu up to Mullaitivu to reach the site of the Farah III Shipwreck.
